INTERESTING INFO: From the 1987 Schreiner’s Iris Lovers Catalog: Intense black shades with red undertones evoke a dramatic depth of feeling. Note the unbelievable velvety sheen. Nicely branched stems produce 9 to 12 buds!

Webmaster note: This is perhaps my favorite dark Iris. It bloomed for the first time in 2009 and its red undertone is just something totally different than all the blue-based blacks on the market.
