COVER: This 8.5" x 11" catalog is a representation of one of the early color catalogs. The cover depicts the garden of Mr. Harold Knowlton in Auburndale, Massachusetts.

GREETING: As you leaf through the catalog page by page, we hope you will participate with us in enjoying the thrills of Iris. Crystal clear - opaque - iridescent - ruffled - exciting effects. New Iris varieties will put your garden on a pedestal. Join the proud possessors with these new eye arresting colors. This choice perennial in its non-ending kaleidoscope of color, in many sizes and floral styles coupled with brilliance and dependability makes a rainbow of your garden. Perusing the catalog, note the new advances in color, size and form.
And remember, not only in color alone has this revolutionary change taken place. Today's Iris produce some individual blooms measuring 6 to 7 inches, on stems that measure from 36 to 45 inches tall with many buds per stem. It is not what you feed them that gives you size but which kinds you select and grow.
A Personal Word - our very grateful thanks to our many friends and customers. It is of intense interest to us to have you write aobut your gardening experiences, to know what kinds prove the apple of your eye and certainly of your other garden adventures as well. I wish it were possible for each of you to see the blooming season with us. Since distances do not allow, our efforts in this catalog are the next best method to show you the glory of Iris. We hope you share our enthusiasm for this flower. Your generous patronage and fine letters are heart warming. We feel singularly blest to have this association and will do our best to tell you more about this lovely flower.
