1962 IRIS LOVER'S CATALOG
Click Picture to Enlarge

COVER: This 8.5" x 11" catalog features one of Schreiner's 1962 introductions Fire Magic. This cover is unique in that it was never duplicated in any form for any other catalog. Many of the catalogs from the Mid-1960s to the end of the 1980s used the same backdrop, but the picture of the sunset is only found in this one catalog.

ABOUT: A unique aspect about this catalog is that it's the only one I know of that does not include a standard greeting by Robert Schreiner, but goes straight to the introductions. It's a typical catalog where it's type ran until the mid-70s. Irises were listed alphabetically, followed by their description with pictures scattered throughout the catalog. The font style consisted of the variety names in a sans-serif, all-caps font. The description was then slightly smaller in a serif-type font. They would use this format for many decades, perhaps until the 1985, but definitely by 1987, where the blue color was used for the names.

GREETING: None.
