GREETING: We're excited about our 71st Collector's Edition catalog for 1996. Our family wants to share our long love affair with Iris. Gardening with Iris is the perfect hobby for the '90s, offering a pleasant respite from the hectic pace of our lives - inhaling their sweet fragrance...running your fingers through the moist soil...watching buds burst into glorious bloom. Tall and elegant, Iris literally trumpet "Spring!" As the sage once said, "When you plant Iris, you plant seeds of joy."
1995 was a bitter-sweet year for us. Interest in Iris-growing continued. For this support, we thank you. And our Honky Tonk Blues garnered our eighth Dykes Memorial Medal, and Iris' highest award. Yet nature's very we spring and long, hot-dry summer made it difficult for Iris growing. Even more disappointing was the passing away of so many of our dear Iris-loving friends. We know that each, if they were to join us again, would be Iris gardeners. For this hobby is not enough for one lifetime.
May all of you find the growing peace and harmony of God's plan in your own secret Iris garden, where are and nature meet.
