INTERESTING INFO: The name of the Iris was dedicated to the wife of former American Iris Society president Leon Wolford. Both were found members of the Iris Society of Dallas, Texas. They primarily lived in a small city lot, growing bearded and Louisiana Irises. The Wolfords later began selling Iris, particularly to the Garden Club of Houston. The eventually moved to Whitewright, Texas and settled on some of Edith’s family property where planted about two acres of Iris. Edith Wolford passed away in 2006.
