ORIGINATOR: Schreiner INTRODUCED: 1963 CLASS: Tall Bearded HEIGHT: 38" BLOOM SEASON: Mid DESCRIPTION: Mahogany red self, plush red F.; bright gold-orange beards. PARENTAGE: Trim X ((Orelio x Pacemaker) x Inca Chief AWARDS: None INTERESTING INFO: From the 1963 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: Over the years there has been a dearth of good tall and well branched red iris. Many tend to be unduly short or lacking in branching. Here we have a midseason red of delightful shade of uniform mahogany red with a most attractive bright gold-orange beard. The full-flower formed bloom is almost a self, rich as mahogany red velvet…a sumptuous color. The fine branched stems, with many buds, dispaly three ideally spanced florets in bloom at the same time. Rich attractive and a real advance in the red class. $15.00 |
