INTERESTING INFO: There is some discrepancy whether or not this Iris, as well as the Iris Quicksilver, was introduced in 1950 or in 1953. The 1950 Iris Lover’s Catalog mentions no new Schreiner introductions. Flying Saucer and Quicksilver did not appear in a Schreiner catalog until 1953, but only in the general listing and not with the rest of the 1953 Schreiner introductions.

I spoke with a representative from Schreiner’s Gardens and they told me that their original registration records indicate registration and introduction in 1950. Until another piece to the puzzle is added, we may never know the actual year of introduction.
