INTERESTING INFO: Gingersnaps are flat brittle cookies spiced with ginger and sweetened with molasses.

From the Schreiner's 1966 Iris Lover's Catalog: The search for a fine brown iris has been unending. Gingersnap represents one of the finest seedlings we have raised in this spicy ginger-brown shade. The flower is remarkably broad and massive in all its parts with exceptional branching and many buds. A very novel Iris needed to complete the color spectrum in virtually every iris collection. Seen in daylight Gingersnap has a richness and sheen that greatly enhances its beauty. We are proud to present such a meritous brown, a most popular color.
