INTERESTING INFO: From the 1978 Schreiner’s Iris Lover Catalog: Gold literally radiates from this spectacularly big, deep yellow self (beard and all). It has been described as a “bright as the sun” rich gold, because it is not only a clean non-fading crisp gold, but also luminously brilliant. Over the years our breeding program has aimed at developing a sun fast yellow that would be a good grower in both rigorous northern climates as well as the more southern locations. This gorgeous new yellow meets the bill. A product of West Coast X Warm Gold, it has happily combined the favorable characteristics of both parents. Three branches plus spur; double socketed, 6 to 8 buds.
