INTERESTING INFO: From the 1961 Schreiner's Iris Lovers Catalog: Blue-black Iris have always been nuggets of color richness in the Iris colorama, but they have been essentially foreground Iris because of modest height. Imagine, therefore, a black-violet forty inches tall with unprecedented branching and exceptional size! Licorice Stick excels in lustre as a "black" Iris should. Falls are the same color as the standards, but with a pronounced velvety nap. Even the beard is indigo violet. A stunningly beautiful Iris that we are happy to introduce.
