INTERESTING INFO:
From the 1999 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: Like a vintage wine, our Merlot is similarly full-bodied and bound to please. Merlot nicely captures its subtle blending of hyacinth violet and cherry red colors. We crossed our award-winning red, Cannonball, with that remarkable claret-purple, Mulberry Punch to produce this grand master. Its repute may even exceed that of either of its parents because of its exceptional bloom vigor. Imagine towering thick stalks with four branches and 8-10 buds each and you know wh it's in vogue. Reserve yours early before the barrel is empty.
