ORIGINATOR: Schreiner INTRODUCED: 1966 CLASS: Tall Bearded HEIGHT: 40" BLOOM SEASON: Mid to Late DESCRIPTION: Very blue self; white beard. PARENTAGE: Galilee X M 1020-1 (((J 274-A ((50-52 x H 25-a) x (Azure Skies)) x 1846))) AWARDS: None INTERESTING INFO: From the 1966 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: It has been impossible for us to deny introduction to this beautiful clean-cut blue iris standing as it does midway between cerulean and azure. We struggled to make a decision between this and Crystal Blue in 1964 but finally gave the nod to the latter. Ever sicne, garden visitors have chorused, "You cannot pass up introducing such a beautiful blue iris!" It is indeed a very blue iris, so similar to Galilee, its parent, but taller and better branched. A larger stock than usual accounts for our very modest price. $15.00 |
