From the 1939 René Cayeux Iris Catalog: S. buffy yellow with a faint haze of bluish lavender passing golden yellow at base. F. wide and flaring, soft bright pastel blue, gradually toning to soft yellow at the edges with dainty conspicuous veining at throat, beard bright golden yellow.

From the 1940 Iris City Gardens Catalog: A delightful French introduction which received a Certificate of Merit in France. S—buff, with a flush of soft bluish-lavender. F—flaring, soft pastel blue, gradually blending to soft yellow edges. Golden beard and yellow throat. Very large flowers.
